The Long Absence.....Time To Be Back

The Fathom was temporarily down due to me being frequently sick in and out of the hospital. Therefore, we took a break from podcasting, and now I'm back. Ready to get this party started again soon with new Skincast episodes recorded and LIVE versions....stay tuned for website to slowly come back to life. I am also looking forward to be able to bring new Christian music and life stories along with sidekick Shep to the waves. Brandon Heath Nominated for Grammy

Brandon Heath Nominated for Performance, Best Song, and Best Album in the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, which will be Feb 12th 2012.

With the release of the 54th Annual Grammy nominations comes Brandon Heath nominated for Performance in Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music and for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song for his track "Your Love" on Leaving Eden (Reunion Records) which was also nominated for best Contemporary Christian Music Album.

Brandon Heath won Male Vocalist of the year last year for "Your Love"

From Nashville Tennessee Brandon Heath is best known for his songs "I'm Not Who I Was" for which he won a Grammy for New Artist of the Year in 2008. and "Give Me Your Eyes" for which he won Male Vocalist, Song of the Year, and Songwriter of the year in 2009.

Leaving Eden was released January 18th 2011, which is charted at 36 on Billboards. The most popular tracks on iTunes are "Leaving Eden", "Your Love", "The Light In Me", with "Your Love" leading the charts at number 1 in Christian Songs.

"The question "What is your Eden?" came from my counselor Al Andrews last spring. We had him join us on a weekend run and sat back in my dressing room with the band and pondered over that question. It was so fascinating to hear from my band mates what their answers were. So many of us, including me, answered with a childhood memory. My answer was the backyard of my grandparents’ house in Waverly, TN. It was perfection to me. There was a pristine creek that ran through it where I learned to fish and a big wooded hill up the back where I would watch my granddad hunt. His name was Paul Petty, I called him Papa. He was a small town barber and a respected elder in his church. He fought in a few wars and battled a longer war with diabetes. He was witty, and strong, and handsome. My grandmother Maude, I called her Ducky, worked hard in her garden of tomatoes, okra, corn and squash. She had soft hands for a gardener. She hated to cook, but she was really good at it. I still put honey on my toast because of her.

My mom and dad divorced when I was young, but I don't have very many memories of it because much of that time, my mom sent me to Waverly. I was protected and loved and innocent. Obviously I would learn the heartbreaking reality of what divorce feels like later, but that summer, I still had my innocence. I loved my grandparents and they lived a long full life together. They are both gone now and the house was sold. I romanticize about buying that house so I can get that backyard back. I took Al there this past summer. He saw my Eden, and it was perfect. What’s your Eden?"

Natalie Grant Nominated for a Grammy

Just heard from Natalie Grant on Twitter that she was nominated for a Grammy for her song Alive on the "Music Inspired by the Story" Project, and she is humbled. (http://www.thestorycd.com/). Currently she is on her "The Story Tour" and will be performing all over the US, she has a schedule posted until April on her site at http://nataliegrant.com/tour/ This year she was nominated for Artist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the year, and Pop/Contemporary Album of the year for the GMA Dove Awards. She has been nominated for Female Vocalist of the year since 2005, and won 4 years in a row from 2006 to 2009. Her latest album is called "Love Revolution" released August 24, 2010 on Curb Records. Love Revolution is charting at 46 and was at 38 last week on Billboards. Her song "Your Great Name" is the most popular download on iTunes. Natalie is good at hitting the high notes, giving you a heavenly worship experience. Her songs are filled with Love for Jesus, and her passion shows in her music.
